Leave LiveChat without losing your history
Your archived conversations, who was answering and your canned responses, in a few minutes and without sending anything to your customers.
What keeps people from switching chat tools isn't the price: it's the years of conversations. We just left LiveChat ourselves, so the import is in the console, not in an email to support.
What gets imported
- Archived conversations, with their dates, the name of the agent who answered each message, and the files (as links). They arrive closed in History, and search finds them.
- Who was answering: at the end, the list of agents with their email and number of conversations, so you can invite them from Team.
- Your canned responses, to paste in: LiveChat's API doesn't provide them. One per paragraph, 20 at most.
What doesn't, and why
- Internal notes (what only agents could see) and system messages: that isn't the conversation with the customer.
- Contact details of visitors older than 30 days. We anonymize any visitor inactive for 30 days; importing their name only to erase it that same night would mean keeping personal data for nothing. The text of the conversations stays.
- LiveChat's reports. Imported conversations don't count in your reports: they measure what was answered here.
- The files themselves stay with LiveChat. If you close that account, their links may stop working.
Step by step
- Install Krealo Chat on your site (Shopify or WordPress). Leave LiveChat in place while you try it out.
- In the LiveChat developer console (
platform.text.com/console): Personal Access Tokens → Create new token, with thechats--all:roscope (read-only). Note the Account ID and the token. - In Krealo Chat: Integrations → Import from LiveChat. Paste both, choose the period, Check (to see how many there are), then Import.
- Keep the tab open during the import. If you close it, it picks up where it left off when you paste the token again.
- Paste your canned responses into the box for them, below the import.
- The day you switch LiveChat off, run an import again: it picks up the latest conversations and duplicates nothing. Then remove the LiveChat code from your site and delete the token in LiveChat.
The token
It isn't stored anywhere, not with us and not in your browser: it's used during the import and goes away with the tab. It can only read (chats--all:ro). You have to be an admin of the workspace to import.
