The chat works on a phone
The console was written for a mouse. On a phone, the conversation list took up 320 pixels out of 375 and there was nothing left for the chat. Now there's one column at a time, with an arrow to go back, navigation at the bottom where your thumb lands, and the keyboard no longer hides the field you're typing in.
Messenger and Instagram
Messages to your Facebook page and your Instagram account land in the same inbox as your website chat. You reply in the same place, without switching apps.
The visitor card
While you write, you see the pages visited, the cart, previous orders and how long the person has been waiting.
The two check marks, like on WhatsApp
You know whether your reply was delivered and whether it was read.
The form before writing
If you want, the visitor leaves their name and a contact before they start. After hours, that's what lets you answer them the next day instead of losing them.
The app can be installed
The console installs on the phone and on the computer. The icon shows the number of conversations waiting, and it keeps opening without a network.
Fixes
- Pulling down no longer reloads the page in the middle of a conversation.
- On iPhone, tapping the text field no longer zooms the page.
- The colours were measured one by one: four contrasts didn't meet the accessibility standard and are fixed.
- A file sent by a visitor is checked by its actual content, not by what the browser declares.
What we're working on
A test environment separate from production, a daily backup, and the console in English and Spanish on every page. It's written here because it's also what's missing on the security page.
