Get notified when someone writes

In the browser today; on your phone once the app is in the stores.

In the browser

At the top of the console, Turn on alerts. The browser asks for permission once. After that, every new message from a visitor pops up an alert, even if the tab is behind another one. If you said no by mistake, it's in your browser's site settings (the lock icon to the left of the address).

You can get alerts only for the conversations assigned to you (Only my chats).

When nobody answers

After 90 seconds of waiting, the whole team gets a reminder; after 5 minutes, an urgent alert follows. Both delays are set per site, and the urgent alert can go to a single person (the manager) instead of everyone.

On your phone

The mobile app exists and lets you reply straight from the notification, without opening the app. It's not in the App Store or on Google Play yet; this page will have both links the day it is. In the meantime, the console works in your phone's browser, alerts included.
